Our Services

Create high quality custom mechanicals with precision and accuracy.

Hot-Chamber Die Casting

Hot-chamber die casting is a metal casting process specifically designed for low-melting-point alloys like zinc, tin, lead, and magnesium.

Cold-Chamber Die Casting

Cold chamber die casting is a metal casting process specifically designed for high-melting-point alloys like aluminum, copper, and iron.

Preparing the Die
The first step is to create the die. Dies are typically made from steel and are designed to endure high temperatures and pressures. Molds are typically manufactured using CNC machining. After the die is made, it is prepared with a releasing agent or lubricant. This helps release the cast part. The die is then clamped and closed with high pressure.

Advantages and drawbacks of Die casting

ADVANTAGES

ADVANTAGES

Fast cycle times.

Is suitable for producing complex parts.

Produces parts with high dimensional accuracy.

Offers repeatable, accurate results with efficient production.

Produces parts with a smooth surface finish, which lessens the need for post-processing.

DRAWBACKS

DRAWBACKS

The cost of equipment and dies can be very expensive.

Is typically unsuitable for ferrous metals or metals with a high melting point.

Designing and tooling new dies is a complex process that can take long before a production run starts.

Up-front costs and lead times may be prohibitively high with small production batches.

Surface finishes can serve either a functional or aesthetic purpose. Surface finishes that serve both purposes are deemed cosmetic finishes, and are used for cosmetic parts. Producing cosmetic parts requires additional measures to minimize defects such as hang marks and scratches from tools.

TESTIMONIALS

STEVEN JAWORSKI
Amazing experience. All the expectations fulfilled. Exceptional quality and surface finish. Lead time faster than initially stated.
-STEVEN JAWORSKI
YONATAN ASSOULINE
During the process, we used HLHs capabilities to 3D print many prototypes. That meant we had the option to iterate very quickly, print objects, and test them to see if they were working correctly in terms of complexity, or too much complexity.
-YONATAN ASSOULINE
JACKSON SIU
HLH has always given us exactly what we needed. We’ve received parts with holes in the right places, with the right finish, and on time. Their user-friendly website means faster turnaround.
